DNA Funded is an Australia-based prop firm that launched in 2024. It gives traders access to firm capital after they pass one of several evaluation challenges. The firm is new, so it has a short track record, but it works with DNA Markets as its liquidity provider and its partner broker is regulated by ASIC. This review covers how the challenges work, what they cost, the rules you must follow, the platforms on offer and how payouts are handled.
DNA Funded Overview
DNA Funded is operated by Prop Trade Tech Pty Ltd. The firm offers evaluation challenges in three formats: 1 Phase, 2 Phase and Rapid. Account sizes run from $5,000 to $200,000, with a total funding allocation that the firm says can scale up to $600,000. Accounts are denominated in USD. The firm highlights access to more than 800 instruments across forex, indices, commodities, stocks and crypto.
The model is simple. You choose an account size, pay a one-time challenge fee, and trade under the firm's risk rules. If you pass, you move to the funded stage and keep a share of the profits.
Regulation and Safety
DNA Funded itself is not presented as a regulated broker. The regulated part of the setup is its partner, DNA Markets, which is regulated by ASIC (the Australian Securities and Investments Commission). DNA Funded states that this arrangement supports common safety standards such as segregated client funds and negative balance protection. These are the firm's own claims, so it is worth confirming current terms directly with the firm and the partner broker before you buy a challenge.
The firm has also introduced risk controls. These include a 40% daily profit cap and reduced leverage on stock CFDs, which point toward more controlled trading. Its community is small but active, with more than 600 members on Discord and updates posted on Instagram and Twitter/X.
Account Types and Challenge Formats
There are three challenge types. Each has different loss limits, leverage and timing rules, so read the terms for the model you choose.
| Challenge | Max daily loss | Max total loss | Minimum trading days | Time limit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 Phase | 5% | 6% | 3 | No maximum time limit |
| 2 Phase | 6% | 10% | 3 (usually) | No maximum time limit |
| Rapid | 4% | 5% | 3 | Must be completed within 10 calendar days |
The Rapid challenge is the fastest route to funding, but it has the tightest timeline. The 1 Phase and 2 Phase models have no maximum time limit, which suits traders who prefer to build steady results over longer periods.
Fees and Pricing
DNA Funded charges a one-time evaluation fee. Prices rise with account size. Before discounts and add-ons, the source lists 1 Phase from $59 for $5K, 2 Phase from $49 for $5K, and Rapid from $99 for $10K, with the top 1 Phase price at $1,209 for a $200K account. Examples after the MFB25 code (25% off) include 2 Phase 5K at $36.75 and 1 Phase 200K at $906.75.
- Trading commissions: $5 per non-crypto trade ($2.50 per side)
- Crypto trading fee: 0.1%
- Add-ons: +20% for 1 Phase and 2 Phase, +30% for Rapid
Once you choose an account size and pass, you keep that size. You cannot switch it later. Promotions change, so check the current offer on the site. At the time of our research, the source lists code MFB25 for 25% off, while our database lists a 15% discount on any challenge. Confirm which applies at checkout.
Trading Rules and Restrictions
The firm applies strict drawdown control during evaluation. You can trade manually and some automation is allowed, but the funded stage has tighter limits. Key rules include:
- Breaking the daily or total loss limit leads to automatic failure.
- Only up to 40% of your total payout target can count in one trading day. Extra gains roll into the next day.
- Positions can be held through news, but opening or closing trades is not allowed 10 minutes before or after a major announcement.
- Overnight and weekend holds are allowed.
- Multiple accounts from related IP addresses are not allowed, and frequent IP changes can trigger a review.
- There are no free trials and no free retakes.
Leverage depends on the challenge and the asset. Forex is up to 1:30 on 1 Phase and Rapid, and up to 1:50 on 2 Phase. Commodities and indices are up to 1:10, stocks up to 1:5, and crypto up to 1:2 (1 Phase and 2 Phase only). Some listings elsewhere may show different leverage figures, so use the firm's current terms as the reference.
Automation is treated differently by stage. EAs can be used during evaluation. Once funded, many styles are restricted, including tick scalping, high-frequency trading, latency arbitrage, martingale and grid strategies. Third-party EAs may need approval. Copy trading is only allowed between your own DNA Funded accounts.
Platforms
DNA Funded supports TradeLocker and DXTrade. MT4 and MT5 are not available. TradeLocker runs in a browser and on mobile, and connects with TradingView charting tools, including on-chart order placement. Its features include stop-loss and take-profit calculators, live market data and layout customization. If you rely heavily on MetaTrader tools or specific automation features, the switch may take some adjustment. The firm provides TradeLocker login access so you can review spreads and execution before buying a challenge.
Deposits, Payouts and Withdrawals
Challenge fees are paid by one-time payment, with crypto payments carrying a 1% transaction fee and bank transfers a flat $50 fee. Once funded, the default profit split is 80%, and it can rise to 90% with the profit split add-on where it is offered. Some Rapid listings show a 100% split, so confirm the terms on the checkout page.
Standard payouts arrive every 14 days. The early payout add-on reduces this to every 7 days. The firm states that profit withdrawals have no withdrawal fees and are processed within 72 hours. Refunds are not available after the fourth withdrawal, according to the source.
Bonuses, Add-ons and Affiliate Program
The main extras are paid add-ons. The early payout add-on is available for 1 Phase and Rapid, and the profit split boost is available for 2 Phase and Rapid. The Rapid combined add-on bundles both and adds 30% to the challenge price. DNA Funded also runs an affiliate program with a tracking dashboard, promo access, weekly payouts and a 120-day cookie window. A scaling option tied to performance has been announced, but full details have not been published.
Customer Support and Education
Support is available by email at support@dnafunded.com and through live chat, which includes an AI helper for common questions. Support is English-only and there is no phone line listed. The firm does not currently offer education content, such as courses, webinars or video lessons, so newer traders will need to learn elsewhere before attempting a challenge.
Who DNA Funded Is For
DNA Funded suits experienced traders who want to test a strategy across several markets without a large upfront outlay, and who are comfortable with TradeLocker or DXTrade. Swing traders may value the overnight and weekend holding rules. It is a weaker fit for beginners, for traders who need MT4 or MT5, and for anyone who relies on fast automated strategies after funding. If you are comparing options, you may also want to review FundingPips or FundedNext before deciding.
Trading involves risk, and most traders who attempt prop challenges do not pass them. Only risk money you can afford to lose.
